Mission & Vision

Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church envisions a fruitful communion of missionary disciples who are both boldly living in the freeing power of the Gospel, and zealously proclaiming the life-giving ransom purchased by Jesus Christ.

The mission of Our Lady of Ransom has been given to her by Jesus Christ: “Go make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit; teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” (Mt 28:19-20)  As the local manifestation in Niles, Illinois of the universal Church, we will serve this mission through ….

  … engaging seekers by the works of mercy, proclaiming the Gospel, and inviting others to surrender their lives to Jesus Christ;

  … enlivening believers with catechesis faithful to the Magisterium, formation in a life of prayer and virtue, and beautiful and sacred liturgical celebrations;

  … empowering disciples to exercise their baptismal vocation by living from their charisms and engaging the world with a missionary spirit.
