About Our Program

Welcome to the Religious Education Program at Our Lady of Ransom Parish! Children are truly the future of our Church. One day our children will lead us in ways we never dreamed possible. Our catechists attempt to prepare our youth for what lies ahead in their personal faith journey, incorporating theology, service, prayer, and worship.

childliturgyA dear friend gave me this quote: “When you come to the edge of all the light you have known, and you are about to step out in the darkness, FAITH is knowing one of two things will happen…there will be something to stand on, or you will be taught how to fly.” In Religious Education, we attempt to do both. We attempt to give our students a strong theology to stand on through weekly classes, service opportunities, sacramental preparation, and regular participation in prayer and Mass. At the same time we encourage our students to fly by experiencing their faith in small ways each day, by seeing the face of Jesus in others, and by coming to know and share Christ’s abundant love.
